    How to report an email scam

    If you’ve received an email you believe is a scam, there are two ways you can report it to us:

    1. Use our online form to report a scam
    2. Forward the email to abuse@telstra.com.

    When reporting a scam to us, it’s important to share the full email details including the date you received it.

    We may contact you if we need more information.

    How to report an SMS scam

    If you’ve received an SMS message you believe is a scam, there are two ways you can report it to us:

    1. Use our online form to report a scam
    2. Forward the SMS to 7226 (SCAM).

    When reporting a scam to us, it’s important to share the full message details including the date you received it.

    If you’re worried about the security of your credit/debit cards or bank account, contact your financial institution immediately.

    • Don’t click on suspicious links
    • Don’t share personal info with unknown contacts. Telstra will never ask for your account password on a phone call.
    • Check if it was really Telstra contacting you
      • To check the Notification Centre in My Telstra:
        1. Go to Profile
        2. Select Account activity.
    • Change your password if you suspect your account has been accessed
    • If you shared personal information like a driver licence, Medicare card or passport, we recommend contacting IDCARE for support.
    • Keep up to date with our list of active scams.
